Jonathan is the resident potter at Karlyn's Gallery.
He works and lives with his wife and family in Washburn, Wisconsin.
This town is along the beautiful south shores of Lake Superior near
Bayfield, WI and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

Jonathan makes work with a fusion of Japanese, Korean, and American pottery.  Beautiful handmade work with the intent of everyday use. Through experiences apprenticing in America and living in Japan for 4 years,  he strives to bring the best of both to the table.

Jonathan is from west-central Minnesota.  After a 2 year apprenticeship with Richard Bresnahan at the St. John's Pottery in Collegeville, MN, he furthered his studies by moving to Karatsu, Japan.  He taught english in this pottery town and was able to receive study and mentorship at three pottery studios.  He now is the resident potter at Karlyn's Gallery in Washburn, Wisconsin.

Jonathan creates wood-fired and gas-fired functional pottery: mugs, bowls, tableware, serving-ware and other  kitchen accessories.  Larger pieces include functional and decorative jars, vessels, vases, fountains, garden/lawn and interior decorations.
